The Pavilion has officially been opened, and the dedication went
along smoothly. The Chicken BBQ went along good also, except for the down pour
that almost flooded us. I would like to thank all the dedicated volunteers, that
worked from early morning until late afternoon. The Legion volunteers, along
with the Auxiliary, Sons, and Riders were also there. Also, I would like to
thank, NY Assemblyman, Al Stirpe, North Syracuse Mayor, Diane Browning and
Department of New York American Legion Commander, Jim Troiola who participated
in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Thank you all so much. We did have a few
chickens left over, but with horseshoes on Monday night, and selling whole
chickens to other patrons, it soon cleared out the cooler.
Our next venture (for the pavilion) is SEPTEMBER 19th, SAVE THE DATE, there will
be flyers out soon so watch for them, and come out and volunteer.
Also, we will NOT have the fish fry for two weeks, 8/27 and 9/3, due to the
State Fair, but will start again on 9/10. We will start our regular Legion
meetings on September 16 and we hope to see you all there. In the meantime, come
out and enjoy your Post, get involved, volunteer and enjoy yourselves. Listen
for the Whistle.
